Stefan's Mini Biography
Great, now Nick was up. He rarely hits it and when he does, it cruises along at 1 mph to the pitcher. WHIZZ. Strike one. My coach turned to me. “Stef,” he said. “When the catcher catches the ball, go halfway down the line. He’ll follow you back to third base. Then, when he throws the ball to the pitcher, sprint home.”
So, ZOOM. Strike two. I go halfway down the line. The catcher jumps at me but I stay where I am. He starts running. When he is just out of arm’s reach, I slide back to third follows me all the way there. I tag the base and the catcher throws it to the pitcher. It’s my big moment. Now I see why Coach George wanted me to do this. The catcher was at third and there was no one at home for the play.
My cleats dig into the dirt. My legs are pumping and my heart is racing. I’m sprinting. My foot hits something hard. I hear the crowd explode. My teammates race out of the dugout and tackle me. The fans burst through the gate and start rushing at me. I’m lifted off my feet. When I land I start running because 1) the paparazzi; 2) my brother’s rushing at me (which is always a bad sign); and 3) my coach is rushing at me with the water cooler.
Stefan's Predictions for Himself and 3 Friends
In 10 Years
In ten years time I will be 20,most likely in college and if I am in college a good one. I’ll be a roller coaster designer. I’ll design roller coaster with loop-de-loops, corkscrews, and 20-50ft drops! My other job is bartending. Having people come into my joint, play pool, drink beer, use the machine that predicts your future in ten and twenty years time. It’ll be a great success! On weekends I will go to the movie theaters, go to amusement parks, baseball, football, and soccer games. Hopefully I will teach kids soccer.
My friend Joey will have skipped college to pursue a basketball career. I predict that the Knicks will draft him. He’ll live in the suburbs of New York City; White Plains, for example. He’ll be the Captain of his team in his fourth year. That will also be the year that he wins the NBA championship and he and I open a bar together. In his spare time, he will go to amusement parks, play video games, and shoot the basketball with his son.
Blake is another friend who will go down the path of sports. He will have selected a professional soccer career. His college is Michigan State. This will be the year he gets drafted by the Real Madrid in Spain. Overall, he will be the third best player on the team. In 2023, he scores 21 goals, 13 assists, and seven corners. He is an A student and works extremely hard. His favorite teammate is Messi’s son.
Aiden is the top artist on a team of artists creating the comic book Alien. He is by far the best illustrator, drawing everything except the main character’s school, clouds, and spaceships. Aiden attends the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. He has a second job as an engineer. In fact, he created the A-Pad. His hobbies are soccer, basketball, football, and breeding Golden Retrievers.
In 20 Years
In 20 years time, I’ll be 30 years old. I predict that I will be a sports car designer. My dream is to create the first car with 1) a bullet proof screen; 2) an automatic milkshake maker; 3) undetectable extensions; 4) autopilot; 5) the ability to fly; 6) a donut maker; and 7) bullet proof tires. I’ll be known around the globe. Cops won’t have to worry about 1) bullets ruining nice paint work of their car; 2) flat tires during a chase; and 3) having to go all that way to a donut shop.
Joey will have been traded from the Knicks to the Thunder. His first game he does extremely well. Our bar that we opened together a few years earlier is still running strong. Joey is the best guy to be running it with. He knows the exact way to bring in customers. One of the ways is to tell them that their future in 10 and 20 years will be predicted. Joey loves playing basketball, especially with his son. They spend hours outside together shooting, playing 1:1, and just passing the ball.
My friend Blake is still on the Real Madrid team in Spain. His son Derrick is eleven years old. He is an artist like his dad. He draws pictures of his dad playing soccer. Then Blake comes over and makes some last minute adjustments. Then, he puts them in the window of his new store, Soccer Prince. Everything for soccer that you can imagine is in the store. From cleats to goal nets, he’s got it all. But the thing he sells most though, is his autograph.
Aiden will make the next Mono Lisa. It’s called the Mona Aiden. It is a masterpiece of art hung in galleries everywhere. He makes enough of a fortune from this painting (which is really just a drawing colored in with crayons) that he can buy an enormous mansion equipped fully with everything he could possibly want. I’d be silly to name them all but some that must be named include an art studio, a huge fountain outside the entrance, a butler for each person in the family.
